About the Event
300 years ago, the church and the aristocracy were the main funders of new music. Since then, pretty much everything has changed, and in this talk Ralph Woodward explores the process by which music for choirs comes to be written nowadays. He considers the whole process, from the contract to the performance, and shares examples of music whose commissioning he has been involved in, including beautiful pieces by Will Todd, Bob Chilcott, and Jonathan Dove.
